What types of healthcare professionals are eligible to participate in your CME courses?

Our CME activities are designed primarily for Pharmacists (RPHs), Nurse Practitioners (NPs), and Physicians (MDs). Additionally, Physician Assistants (PAs), Registered Nurses (RNs) often take our courses.

What formats do you offer (online, live, on-demand, in-person)?

We offer a mix of delivery formats to fit different learning needs and schedules, including:

·       Live in-person conferences at resorts and on cruises.

·       Live streaming of resort seminars.

·       On-demand online courses recorded at live seminars.

Do Seminars provide Pharmacology Contact Hours?

University Learning Systems specializes in pharmacology continuing education. All courses provide pharmacology credit.

Live Seminar FAQs

What topics are typically addressed by ULS Seminars?

University Learning Systems offers continuing medical education (CME) and continuing pharmacy education (CPE) seminars focused on pharmacology and therapeutics for physicians, pharmacists, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and related health professionals. Some of the topics addressed include:

·       New-drug updates: reviewing recently approved medications, labeling changes, newly indicated uses, and how they compare with older therapies

·       Evidence-based pharmacotherapeutics: in various disease states (e.g., GI disorders, cardiovascular & metabolic disorders, CKD, diabetes, hypertension, obesity) and appropriate drug selection, safety, monitoring, cost/benefit

·       Primary care pharmacology topics: such as prescribing opioids, avoiding drug-injury in older adults, cardiovascular risk reduction, pharmacogenomics, functional bowel disorders.

·       Interprofessional education on pharmacology (physicians, pharmacists, NPs, PAs) focusing on applying clinical drug knowledge in patient care to improve outcomes.

·       Specialized topics such as GI pharmacology, palliative care pharmacology, hyperinsulinemia/insulin resistance, etc.

How current are the course topics and how do you ensure the content is evidence-based?

All of our courses are developed or reviewed by subject-matter experts (SMEs) in the respective specialty area (for example NP educators, clinicians, researchers).
We regularly update our content to reflect the latest clinical guidelines, changes in regulation/legislation, and new pharmacology.
Each course includes program objectives, disclosures of any commercial support, and is designed to meet accreditation standards for content validity and relevance.

How are Live Seminars Scheduled?

ULS seminars typically provide 15 hours of CE/CME credit over three days. Sessions are scheduled from 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM each day to allow have the afternoon to explore the location where the seminar is held.

How do I provide feedback or ask questions during/after the course?

Students are encouraged to ask questions of the instructor during a live course.  Zoom sessions are monitored for questions in the chat log.   Course evaluation forms provide the ability to assess the learning and the instruction. Open ended questions provide the ability to make comments and suggestions. Students are encouraged to provide feedback to ULS during and after the class in person or via email.Live CME Courses

What are CE/CME credit requirements?

CE/CME credit for live and Zoom programs is dependent on verification of conference attendance by daily on-time check-in and ULS receipt of completed evaluations. Credit is determined based on actual attendance on a per-session basis. No partial credit is given.

CE/CME credit for recorded online courses is dependent on completion of all course components including tests and evaluations. No partial credit is given.

When will I receive credit?

Pharmacy credit is reported to CPE Monitor. Please ensure that we have your NABP eProfile ID and date of birth on file. Statements of Credit may be downloaded from CPE Monitor.

All other healthcare professionals will receive a Statement of Credit issued via email at the end of each live session or following completion of all components of recorded online courses (Self Study Courses).

Credit for all programs can be reported to CE Broker. Please make sure we have your professional license number.

Does ULS participate in the NABP/ACPE program, CPE Monitor?

Yes! The Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) and National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP) have collaborated to create the CPE Monitor, an electronic system for tracking and recording continuing pharmacy education credits for pharmacy CE  .

As a provider of pharmacy continuing education, University Learning Systems is required to electronically report credit to ACPE and NABP through the CPE Monitor system, as of January 1, 2013. In order for your CE credits to be filed with CPE Monitor, ULS will need both your NABP eProfile ID and your date of birth. To obtain an NABP ePID, please visit  www.MyCPEmonitor.net.

Once you have your NABP ePID, please email it, along with your date of birth, to info@universitylearning.com.Please note, NABP has a  60 day rule in place that gives allows 60 days from course date to report and correct credit. It is your responsibility to check your CPE Monitor account regularly. Past 60 days, providers may be charged to correct credit and are allowed to pass charges on to students.

Does ULS participate with CE Broker?

Yes! CE Broker Tracking #50-11357: Approved by Florida Board of Medicine, Florida Board of Pharmacy, Florida Physician Assistants, Florida Board of Nursing, and Georgia Board of Nursing. Please note that CE Broker no longer accepts reporting of AMA Category 2 continuing education credits

On Demand CME Courses

Are Recordings Available of Live CME Courses?

We record our all our live programs and select which programs will translate well to continuing medical education online and pharmacy CE home study continuing education. Our recordings are  made available on our to provide convenient CME training courses with CME credits online. These on demand courses allows you to view the slides with the faculty commentary, download or print the handout (slides), take the assessment test and complete the evaluation all online. Our recorded programs give you the same quality content that you have come to expect from University Learning Systems live destination programs, just minus the fabulous locations and delicious breakfasts!

Why should I do a On Demand CME Course?

Convenience, convenience convenience! Earn CE/CME anywhere, anytime! Stop and start the video and work at your own speed. Do as much or as little as your schedule allows. You have a year to complete your course.

How can I earn On Demand CME Course Credit?

The on demand courses page provides a listing of the courses. Selection of a course leads to an information page. The information page has a “Register Now” button.

What are the On Demand CME course requirements for credit?

You must view the videos and you much complete the Assessment Test and Evaluation, all online for your convenience.

What if I have questions before I purchase a On Demand CME Course?

Information regarding content, requirements and credit can be previewed on each course before you buy.

How many hours of credit does a On Demand CME Course provide?

Most University Learning Systems online courses provide five (5) CME hours online. Course bundles provide more hours.

What kind of CE/CME credit do University Learning Systems On Demand CME Courses provide?

All University Learning Systems courses provide ACPE credit for pharmacists. Recorded courses provide ACPE home study credit, nursing credit, pharmacology credit and AMA Category 2 credit. See the Credit page that can be previewed before you purchase for more information.

How do I get credit for On Demand CME Courses?

The Lecture Panda Learning Management system immediately reports credit to CPE Monitor. Non-pharmacists can immediately download a Statements of Credit. Recorded programs provide Category 2 credit only for physicians. Please check the Credit page on each course for specific information. We will also report credit to CE Broker and other entities upon request.

Are On Demand CME Courses considered ACPE live credit for pharmacists?

No. Recorded courses do not provide ACPE live credit since ACPE’s definition of a live course is access to the instructor. Our online pharmacy CE recorded courses provide ACPE home study credit for pharmacists. Zoom live streamed courses are considered pharmacist CE live online credit since the student can ask questions of the speaker. However, a recorded Zoom program, like any other recorded course, is then considered home study credit.

Can I earn pharmacology CEU or CME hours online?

Yes. Since University Learning Systems focuses on pharmacology, almost all of our courses provide 3-5 hours of pharmacology online Nurse Practitioner CME.

Registration and Payment FAQs

How do I register and what is the cost?

You can register for the seminar on the ULS website or by calling ULS with the number on the web site. There are different prices for attending live in person, and for attending live via Zoom.  Check the website for current prices.  There are discounts for registering before a cut off data.

Does the registration fee include lodging at the venue?

No.  You must arrange for lodging at the venue separately.  ULS negotiates special discounted rates with the venue. The discounted rates typically have an expiration date thirty days before the seminar begins.  If you choose to stay at another venue you must pay a small service charge because ULS room rates are based on a guaranteed minimum number of room nights.

Do you offer group discounts, institutional pricing, or bundles?

Live courses all have an advanced purchase discount that typically ends 30 days before the first day of the seminar.  There are loyalty discounts for repeat customers. Discounts are offered for group enrollments.

What is your cancellation or refund policy?

Advance written notice is required for any refund consideration.

  • Up to the Advanced Registration Deadline: Cancellations are subject to a $50 processing fee per person or you may apply your full registration one time to another program attended within 12 months.

  • After Advanced Registration Deadline: No refunds, although conference registration less $50 processing fee may be applied one time to another program attended within 12 months.

  • Two weeks before the start of the conference: No refunds or application of registration to another program for cancellation, nonappearance or partial attendance. No refunds due to airline delays or cancellation of flights.

  • We offer no international refunds, except for Canada.

  • Refunds will be processed by original form of payment or by check only.

  • Refunds may take 2-4 weeks to process after notification of cancellation.

How long do I have access to the course material once I enroll?

All materials are maintained in our learning management system which is used for enrollment in live seminars and for on demand courses.  There is no time limit for retrieving the materials. However it as advised that you download the materials within one year of taking the course.
